I think I have fixed the wee problem with the 800x480 res. The screenshot shows the hour, minute and second hand slightly transparent. I have since decided I didn't like it so they aren't so transparent now.
This will work with both 800x480 and 1024x600 (I hope).
Dials have a carbon fibre background.
Speedo has now got an inset background for the digits and had non used 0's removed.
Both clock and speedo have a glass face now.
Reduced text size of date slightly.
To install:
Backup the original MTCScreenClock.apk or just rename it MTCScreenClock.apk_old (located in system/app).
Using root explorer or something similar copy over the new MTCScreenClock.apk to system/app
Change permissions of MTCScreenClock.apk to 644.
Reboot and wait for a sprinkling of fairy dust.
