Hey guys!
Here's my deal. The last Android phone i had was the HTC Desire, and I rooted and modded the crap out of that thing. New ROMs almost weekly. It was so much fun.
Then I ditched that phone and have been an iPhone user ever since. But now the android platform is calling my name, and I'm trying to decide what to get. In my country, the only phones I can get are the Samsung, LG, Sony, and Huawei phones. I don't want any of those except the Huawei (P9 or P9+). But the modding community here for the P9 phones seems very small.
So here's my question - I know I can do a ton of customization on the Android platform without rooting - so is rooting even necessary? What would I need rooting for (apart from ROMs, but like I said - there isn't much of that going on).
